Rick Harrison Speaks Out Following His Son's Sudden Death at 39 – Reveals Heartbreaking Details

In the wake of the sudden and tragic death of Rick Harrison's son, Adam, the star of Pawn Stars has shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. Adam, 39, tragically passed away from an overdose in Las Vegas on Friday, leaving his family in shock and mourning.

"You will always be in my heart! I love you, Adam. 💔," Rick posted alongside a photo of them together at a bar.

Laura Herlovich, a representative for the family, confirmed Adam's death to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam. We ask for privacy as we grieve his loss," the statement read.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Rick disclosed the cause of Adam's death, confirming it was due to a fentanyl overdose. "Yes, I can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose," he stated. "The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously. It seems it is just flowing over the borders, and nothing is being done about it. We must do better."

Fans and celebrities quickly expressed their condolences, with Donald Trump Jr. sharing, "I’m so sorry man." Adam’s brother, Corey Harrison, also honored him on Instagram, posting a childhood photo of the two in a bath. "Wax wtf I will always love you bubba," he wrote.

Adam was Rick Harrison’s second child from his first marriage to Kim Harrison. Rick later married his second wife, with whom he has a son named Jake. While Rick and Corey have been prominent figures at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop and on the show, Adam was less involved but reportedly worked with his father.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that overdose deaths, including those from synthetic opioids, surged by 56.6% from January 2020 to 2021. The Drug Enforcement Administration classifies fentanyl as a Schedule II controlled substance that is roughly 100 times more potent than morphine; even a dose as small as two milligrams—less than a grain of salt—can be lethal.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Harrison family during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Adam.
