Albino Sisters, Born 12 Years Apart, Rise to Modeling Stardom

Despite being born over a decade apart, these two siblings share a rare and striking feature: both have albinism, a genetic condition that results in a lack of pigmentation in the skin, hair, and eyes, giving them a distinctive appearance.

Albinism itself is uncommon, so it's even more extraordinary that a Kazakh couple welcomed not one, but two albino daughters—12 years apart.

Meet Asel and Kamila, two sisters whose unique look has turned them into sought-after models.

Asel, now 14, was the first to be born with albinism. Her mother, Aiman Sarkitova, recalls her shock at the time: “When Asel was born, genetics wasn’t as advanced here. The doctors were surprised.”

Imagine their astonishment when Kamila was born 12 years later with the same condition.

The sight of these two striking siblings together is captivating, and they’ve since become a dynamic modeling duo.

Asel began her modeling career at age 10, and with her now 2-year-old sister Kamila by her side, their popularity has skyrocketed. The pair has amassed over 33,000 Instagram followers, capturing hearts around the world.

While their albinism has brought them opportunities, it comes with challenges too. The condition often brings sensitivity to sunlight, which requires careful management.

“If I go out in the afternoon, I always wear sunscreen, cover my skin, and use headgear or an umbrella,” Asel explained. “In the evening, when the sun’s almost gone, it’s much easier for me.”

No matter what challenges they face, these sisters share a rare bond. In a world where albino individuals may sometimes feel isolated, Asel and Kamila are fortunate to have each other—and their success in modeling is helping to raise awareness about albinism.

"Many people don’t understand what albinism is," said Asel, but through their visibility, these sisters are showing the world just how beautiful and unique people with albinism can be.

This inspiring duo is living proof that beauty comes in all forms.
