After six years of marriage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now proud parents. While their lavish May 2018 wedding captivated the world, tensions within the royal family surfaced shortly after. Two years after the couple stepped away from royal duties, their once-close relationship with Prince William, Kate Middleton, and other family members has significantly deteriorated.
Just two years before their royal exit, Harry and Meghan were set up on a blind date in London. Their connection was instant, and Meghan soon decided to move to the UK to be with Harry.

However, not all members of Harry’s family were supportive of the fast-paced romance. A royal biographer reveals that Prince William urged Harry to take things slow, sensing potential issues.
William reportedly advised his brother, saying, “Take as much time as you need to get to know this girl,” and cautioned him not to rush into anything. According to Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, authors with close ties to the Sussexes, Harry was offended by William’s phrasing, particularly the reference to Meghan as “the girl,” and was frustrated that his brother felt the need to intervene.

Scobie noted that William’s concern was rooted in wanting to ensure Harry wasn’t being “blindsided by lust.”
Privately, William is said to have expressed doubts about the speed of Harry and Meghan's relationship. According to a source cited by the Daily Mail, William began to question some of Meghan’s intentions, feeling she might be more focused on her personal image and ambitions rather than the broader responsibilities of the Royal Family.

Despite these concerns, William chose to remain supportive, wanting Meghan to feel welcome and acknowledging the significant adjustment she was making by joining the Royal Family.
