Rosa worked as a clerk at a supermarket, where each day was usually filled with the routine hustle and bustle of customers. But one day, the usual commotion was interrupted by the loud, persistent cries of a baby. After the cries didn’t stop, Rosa began searching the aisles to see if a mother needed help with her child. To her surprise, she found the baby alone, nestled in a cardboard box with a note beside her reading, "I will always love you, Sue."

After graduating from college, Sue became a popular social media influencer, sharing her life story online. Followers were captivated by her journey—from being abandoned in a store to being adopted by a caring woman who transformed her life.
As Sue’s story gained attention, she appeared on podcasts, where her followers and listeners were moved by her resilience. Despite her success, Sue always wondered why her biological mother had left her. Questions of abandonment haunted her, filling her with an unresolved pain.
One morning, Sue heard a knock on her door. When she opened it, she was stunned to see a woman who looked eerily similar to the woman in photos left with her at the supermarket.

"Hello, darling. It’s me, your mother. I need your help," the woman said softly, stirring a complex blend of emotions in Sue.
Without much pause, her mother asked, “Do you still have the note I left with you when I left you at the store?”
“Left me safely?” Sue thought bitterly. But rather than express her hurt, Sue simply replied, “Yes, I kept it. It’s all I have of you.”
Her mother began apologizing, explaining that she had abandoned Sue because she was running from dangerous people she owed money to. She claimed she had no choice but to leave her, fearing for Sue’s safety. When Sue questioned why she never came back, her mother admitted she had been too scared.

Her mother then made a request—she needed a place to stay. Despite her reservations, Sue reluctantly allowed her in, following Rosa's advice to give her biological mother a chance.
Initially, things seemed fine. Sue’s mother helped around the house, and they started to bond. But one day, Sue came home early and found her mother in her bedroom, quietly slipping jewelry into her purse.
“Mom, what are you doing? Are you stealing from me?” Sue asked, shocked and hurt.

Her mother tried to justify herself, saying, “I need money, and you have so much jewelry. I thought I could sell a few pieces.”
Among the items was a cherished diamond necklace Rosa had gifted Sue for her university graduation. Furious, Sue retorted, “Do you know how hard Rosa worked to save up for this necklace?”
Her mother continued to make excuses, but Sue had heard enough. "I forgave you for abandoning me, welcomed you into my home, and this is how you repay me?” she exclaimed.
The mother tearfully promised to change, but Sue’s trust had been broken. She asked her mother to leave, realizing her mother’s return was more about benefiting herself than building a relationship.

That evening, Sue went to Rosa’s home, her true sanctuary. When she recounted the incident, Rosa gently reminded her, “You took a chance on someone you cared about, and that’s something to be proud of.”
Sue felt grateful to have Rosa, the woman who had always been there for her. Although her mother’s absence left a lasting wound, Sue found comfort in knowing she was deeply loved by the one person who had never abandoned her.
