Prince Harry Loses Appeal Over Police Protection as Public Backlash Grows
Prince Harry has lost his appeal in the Court of Appeal over the reinstatement of his UK police protection. He previously stated that the absence of official security is why his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children have avoided visiting the UK, calling such visits unsafe.
Following the ruling, Harry gave an interview to the BBC where he expressed frustration with his family and the legal process. According to the Daily Mail, he claimed his father, King Charles, “won’t speak to me” and alleged he was the victim of an “Establishment stitch-up.”
Harry further accused members of the Royal Household of interfering in his legal case, expressing surprise that two senior royal officials were part of the committee overseeing security decisions. He has formally requested that the Home Secretary investigate the role the Royal Family and the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) played in the case.

A government spokesperson responded, stating, “As part of long-standing arrangements, these decisions have been taken by Ravec, not the Home Secretary.”
Harry’s remarks triggered a strong reaction from both the public and palace sources. Critics said his comments about King Charles’ health—specifically the claim that “he doesn’t know how much longer he has left”—crossed a line and may further damage the already strained relationship within the Royal Family.

Royal insiders also criticized the BBC for not challenging Harry’s assertions during the interview. The broadcaster later acknowledged a “lapse” in editorial standards. In a statement, the BBC admitted that it failed to adequately challenge the Duke’s claims and should have included the Home Office’s position.
A Mail on Sunday poll showed public support leaning more toward King Charles than Prince Harry. Among those calling for action is broadcaster Piers Morgan, who posted on X (formerly Twitter), urging the King to remove the Sussexes’ royal titles.
“The King must strip Harry and Meghan of their titles asap,” Morgan wrote. “They are never going to stop attacking him, the Monarchy, and the Royal Family—all while simultaneously enriching themselves from their royal status. It’s despicable.”

He continued, “He trashed his family as Prince Philip was dying, as the Queen was dying, and now while both his father and sister-in-law battle cancer. Is there a more contemptible public figure in the world than Prince Harry?”
