Monday morning started like any other for Clara and her eight-year-old daughter, Anna. Breakfast sat on the table, backpacks were ready by the door, and the house was quiet as they prepared for the school day.
But something felt wrong.
Anna barely touched her food. She sat hunched over in her chair, her small hands pressed tightly against her stomach. Her face looked pale, and dark circles rested beneath her tired eyes.
“Mom… it still hurts,” she whispered.
Clara’s concern grew instantly. She had noticed Anna complaining about stomach pain over the weekend, but everyone assumed it was something minor — maybe a stomach bug or something she ate. Still, the discomfort hadn’t gone away, and this morning her daughter looked worse.
Clara knelt beside her and gently asked more questions. When did it start? Had the pain moved? Did anything make it better?
Anna simply shook her head.
Trusting her instincts, Clara decided not to take any chances. She grabbed her keys and drove Anna straight to the pediatrician.
A Routine Visit Suddenly Changes

Clara’s heart immediately sank.
