A Wedding Rich in Meaning
Before guests toasted the newlyweds, Will Reeve shared how he planned to honor his late father on his wedding day. The ABC News correspondent wanted Christopher Reeve’s presence to be felt—quietly, intentionally, and with heart.
That intention gave the celebration added depth. Alongside the joy was a sense of reverence and love that shaped the day.
Surrounded by close family, friends, and longtime colleagues, Will and Amanda Dubin exchanged vows in an intimate, warmly personal ceremony. While many details remained private, guests later offered small glimpses online.
One detail carried special significance: Will wore his father’s cufflinks.
Inside the Miami Ceremony
Will Reeve married Amanda Dubin on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Miami, as confirmed by People.
Several colleagues from ABC News and Good Morning America were in attendance, including Robin Roberts, Lara Spencer, and Gio Benitez.
The outdoor ceremony unfolded beneath twinkling lights and lush tropical greenery, creating an atmosphere that felt elegant yet relaxed. As the evening continued, the reception filled with music and dancing, and guests discovered handwritten notes placed at each seat—an intimate touch that reflected the couple’s thoughtfulness.
Honoring Christopher Reeve
Though few photos were shared publicly, Will had revealed one meaningful detail in advance. In a March 2025 interview with People, he explained his plan.
“I’ll be wearing his cufflinks,” he said.
Christopher Reeve, forever remembered for his role as Superman, passed away in 2004 following complications from a spinal cord injury. Will’s mother, Dana Reeve, died in 2006 after battling lung cancer.
Though both parents were gone, their presence was felt through quiet, intentional moments woven throughout the day.
Before the Wedding
Will and Amanda became engaged on November 8, 2025, and shared the news on Instagram two days later.
Photos captured a candlelit proposal with the Empire State Building glowing in the background. Amanda’s caption was simple and heartfelt: “Us 🤍.”
The post also showed moments with loved ones, a cellist playing nearby, and an atmosphere filled with roses and soft candlelight.
In a statement to People, Will said, “Friday was the happiest night of our lives, and we can’t wait to spend forever together.”
Living His Own Legacy
Years earlier, Will reflected on his upbringing in a 2021 Good Morning America essay, writing candidly about his father’s legacy and the journey to finding his own path.
As a child, he often watched a nature documentary his father hosted, sparking a deep love for whales and a dream of seeing them together.
That dream was never realized. Christopher Reeve was paralyzed when Will was still a toddler and passed away when Will was just 12.
They missed many traditional father-son moments, but Will found other ways to feel close to him. On Father’s Day in 2021, while watching whales in Alaska, he felt his father’s presence beside him.
Becoming His Own Person
After losing both parents, Will grappled with how best to honor their legacy. At first, he felt pressure to follow in his father’s exact footsteps.
Over time, his understanding evolved.
Honoring them, he realized, didn’t mean imitation—it meant living authentically.
He later shared that discovering who you truly are and embracing that truth is “the ultimate form of honor.”
Now in his thirties, Will carries his parents’ legacy forward in his own way—guided by love, resilience, and purpose.
“I find peace and strength,” he said, “in keeping my dad in my heart while I follow it wherever it leads.”
